Seeking to expand his expertise in avionics, Roy moved to Pacific Avionics, where he began working on complex avionics upgrades and installations. By 2017, he joined PAAUS (AMC back in 2017) as an Avionics LAME, quickly proving to be an invaluable member of the team. At PAAUS, Roy holds the role of avionics manager and workshop supervisor, dedicating himself to training numerous B2 apprentices and guiding them through to their qualifications. His mentorship and technical expertise have greatly contributed to the skill development of the next generation of avionics professionals at PAAUS.

In 2008, Ron joined Hinterland, where he served as both a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) and a maintenance controller within a Part 42/145 organisation, eventually progressing to Engineering Manager and gaining his licenses on PT6 and piston engines as well as airframe.
After 14 years, Ron made a sea change in August 2022, moving from Cairns to the Illawarra to take on the role of Engineering Manager at Performance Aviation. Since then, he has added a TPE331 engine license to his credentials and continues to work with a talented team of colleagues.
